| Since January 2002 we have run a series of successful actions: ° Organised a picket of the World Bank HQ in London a week after our founding meeting. Between 100-150 people turned up to bang empty pots and pans and chant slogans - what the Argentina protesters call a cacerolazo. ° Held another cacerolazo outside HSBC in Oxford Street. HSBC is one of the big loan profiteers, making money out of the Argentinean people's misery. It is also being investigated along with other banks for exporting $28 billion out of the country in the midst of the crisis. ° Organised a meeting with workers from the Zanon occupied ceramics factory in Neuquén province where they explained the importance of the occupied factories movement and of uniting with the unempolyed workers, the piqueteros. |
